I'm tired of going on losing streaks due to poor late game play.

I started playing not very long ago. I'm currently level 15, and I generally do well against my peers in the laning phase. I rarely ever die a lot unless I play Support. But most of the time I do die, it's in the late game. I constantly lose games where we have a double-digit kill advantage, because:

A) I get lost in team fights. B) I don't exactly know when and what to push, and neither do any of my teammates. Most of the time they don't even communicate with me.

Also, it kind of feels like it's never a good time to go after Baron to me. Every time I do it, it's at the behest of someone else and it almost always ends disastrously. I'm not even sure if this is the right place to post questions like this, but I really like this game and I want to be good at it, but it's highly frustrating to feel like the game is just out of your hands most of the time. What tips do you guys have, if any? Is there a direction to point me to read up on this?

Everything's changed with Dynamic Queue, but honestly my advice would be to just play the game as a single player RPG and forget about everything else.

Each player contributes value which can come in many different forms whether it be pushing towers, clearing minions, warding, whatever. For the most part the only player you can influence is yourself, so as long as you consistently provide high value you'll win most your games.

Also for the most part you should always be pushing because it forcibly generates map pressure which in turn forces the enemy to react to your actions instead of letting them sit around and wait for a perfect opportunity.

Learn your role, play your role.

& Baron I only ever do it if there is a sheer number advantage like 4v1 5v2 and the rest are dead for about 25 seconds.
