Azir, Masteries Confusion... Need some clarity!

Azir

Been experimenting with Azir a lot lately, trying to add him to my pool before the season starts.

His W, "Arise!", "Summons a Sand Soldier, and replaces Azir's basic attacks".

Does this count for Masteries such as Savagery (+basic attack damage to minions, and do his soldiers melee attacks count as single target, since they can hypothetically hit infinite targets?) and Fervor or Battle? If it does apply to Fervor of Battle, does it apply one stack or two... since they are melee, but also ranged, depending on the perspective?

Furthermore, if they are in fact melee, do they benefit from life-steal mastery?

Azir's soldiers attacks count as an ability and apply spell hits. I guess this reasoning can be used for masteries too.

His soldiers are spells, which is why they can apply item 3116 . His autos from him are regular autos if you're in range to attack on top of your soldiers which is why most get item 3115 too. Try thunderlords.

He do apply fervor of battle each attack grants stacks equal to the amount of champions hit. It's actually pretty crazy on AS heavy Azir builds. item 3116 item 3006 item 3115 item 3115 item 3124 item 3135
