I beleive giving smite at lvl 1 would vastly improve the game for players coming from other mobas. My friend is a big vain glory player, coming from a game similar to league he came because he lives in the jungle and wants more of a challenge. When he starts llaying league he gets executed 10 times in the first 5 minutes until he just sat in his mid lane stealing Xp.
Resources critical to fundamental aspects of the game should be available as soon as possible to new players.
Honestly, no.
The majority of Jungler Champions heavily rely on solid rune pages for early clears. To not have those runes (and we are talking about level 1 to 5 players here) just crushes the early game for Junglers and nobody's going to enjoy it.
Now you can argue that this is part of a bigger problem (I'm with you if you say anything about how the current rune system is dumb) but for this specific argument, you are giving entirely new players who have no idea what they're doing a task that they quite frankly are not able to do. For what sadistic reason would you want that.
League is a great game. However, it has one of the worst when it comes to how I rate the new player experience when it comes to learning how to jungle efficiently. There's no tutorial on jungling. You get one little message in the tutorial we currently have that says "Defeat jungle monsters for gold and EXP!" There's absolutely no help when it comes to learning the intricacies of jungling. I started playing this game in Post Season 2 (Preseason 3) and I didn't even TOUCH jungle until halfway through season 4. I could not jungle until 1 and a half years after I started playing simply because of how intimidated I was by it.
Where did I start? What did I build? How did I know I was jungling optimally? IT SHOULDN'T TAKE A SEASON AND A HALF TO BE ABLE TO LEARN THE JUNGLE. And I'm willing to wager that it would take that long for newer players who didn't know either if they didn't have somebody to show them how, or point them towards somebody who knew how who could teach them.
