Thoughts on global neutral monster re-spawn timers
I remember when we'd have to keep things warded to know the re-spawn time, or at least estimate.
In my opinion, those newfangled global timers take a huge strategic aspect out of the game. I'm all for those timers being in normal games.
After all, they are a great aid to anyone learning the game. But in ranked play, it just feels like a huge handicap for unskilled players. Ranked is meant to be highly competitive, and normal games are more casual/ for learning champions and roles. Personally, I'm of the opinion that memorizing and timing the buffs contributes to the teamwork aspect of the game, and encourages a more competitive environment.[slayer-jinx-unamused]
Say, for example,a bot lane absolutely stomps in the current meta, and the enemy jungler happens to show top side, the snowballing bot lane can easily secure a free first dragon. The timers allow that bot lane to take their would-be focus off of timing the dragon, and they can easily hit tab and see that the dragon re-spawns in so-and-so time, and plan accordingly.
Again, I'm all for these global timers in normal games, but it just feels like an unneeded handicap in ranked games. The timers help me immensely as I'm currently focusing on learning to play jungler.
Rito pls? Anyone else feel the same?
