Boots of Swiftness changes on PBE, is it necessary?
NOTE: THIS IS ON PBE AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE, but I want to bring it up now and get some feedback.
Riot is planning on nerfing
soon, originally by increasing the gold cost by 100, but it was later changed to removing 5 movement speed from the boots, giving them a final MS of +55 and a slow resist of +25%. As a reminder, this means that they will have a bonus movespeed relative to all other T2 boots (with the exception of
) of only +10, which is practically unnoticeable. The item still maintains its +25% slow resist passive.
These boots have received a couple of nerfs over the past few months and have become relatively popular on most champions because they allow a constant movespeed boost and resistance to slows, which are quite prevalent.
Shouldn't we just take away the additional movement speed on this item and give it a greater slow resist? Each pair of boots has its specific reason for purchase, and currently, the only reason champions pick Swiftness is for the additional movespeed. The slow resist does not feel all that impactful in its current state and this would differentiate these boots from the others as a purely defensive pick against heavy slows.
Thoughts?
EDIT: I don't care if you downvote, but stop being drive-by downvotes based solely on the title of the thread and actually read and respond. It is much more helpful to feedback.
