why is norms so unbalanced

every time I play norms, the sides always seem to be drastically one-sided when it comes to rank/level.

like, I have this game for example: https://i.imgur.com/FG9dAtf.png

where most of the people on my team were pretty low elo or low level. but the enemy team had 2 diamond 3s. how in the world do a couple of unranked-gold players are paired with any diamond players at all, let alone 2 of them??

this isn't the only game I've played like this, and its pretty unacceptable. it was impossible to win against that enemy team, low elo players don't have that kind of skill or experience.

this makes the game unenjoyable, like why even play it if this happens so often?

There's really no point in censoring your name as your board's name is the same as your IGN. just a heads upç

Normal MMR and ranked MMR are separate. You and all the other players in that game have similar normal MMRs.

Because Riot is incompetent and doesn't care.

Played against a Challenger Lee Sin today, and the other day played against a Diamond I Fizz main. Both games were boring and stomps.

You should probably censor everyone else if you're going to censor at all XD

Also, I agree, your normals mmr should 100% be within a certain range of your ranked mmr, but the issue with that is premade groups. What happens when the Diamond 1 player wants to play with his Silver 1 friend?

A simple, but not completely refined, way to solve this issue would be to make the average MMR from all 10 players be similar. But we have no way knowing how much that would impact queue times.
