while thresh is not the "best" support, he is the most versatile and this makes him pretty powerful

he has the highest support pick rate in higher divisions

if his style does not fit you, however, you can look into alternatives

I assume you are asking because you want to get the champion? Riot has expanded the pool of temporary free champions, but it's always best to try before getting them if possible

==new player stuff ===

you only get 3 refunds...ever. If you're relatively new, you should probably make sure that you did not accidentally spend the RP that riot lets you start the game with...if they even do that anymore. I'm not sure if the refund will work for it, but if it does, you could get it back and save it for a cheap skin you might like for a champion, though by cheap, I do mean CHEAP

No such thing as the "best champion" It's how you play

Lulu, you wanna tilt anybody on the enemy team. Just polymorph them. Lulu is cancer.

Alistair and Thresh by far. But Lulu is fucking cancer.

Thresh. People keep mentioning Lulu but the only good thing left on her is her poly. Her Q has been neutered as an offensive tool so she's not the bully she used to be and her shield was gutted like all of the other enchanters so she's only passe at being a defensive choice.

The only thing you lose with thresh is sustain. He has plenty of offensive and defensive abilities. If you learn no other support, learn Thresh. Or Alistar. Both are not nearly as hard as people make them out to be
