I'd say just focus on 2 ideally you'd always get jungle if thats what you want to do but I mean since in draft you have to pick at least 2 roles it'd be a good idea to at least be able to hold your own in a second role since you may not always get jungle.

Depends a bit on what kind of junglers you enjoy playing but you probably want jungle/ top since alot of tops/ junglers can easily fit in either role. Plus in my experience most people want top/ mid with adc/ support being the least prefered roles overall so having top/ mid as your secondary would help you get jungle more often whereas if you pick say support secondary you'll probably end up supporting alot.

Nothing wrong with being a jungler/ adc or whatever but since you are just starting out jungle/ top probably best bet.

You should main 1 role and have an off/secondary role (and have a pocket Support/JG in case, because sometimes you are autofilled there).

One tricking for 1 role while having a few pocket picks for all roles is probably best for climbing.

You need to be aware of all roles and have at least one champ for each. You might not be good with them but you need them if you are going to play ranked. In the time you will get better with all of them and you will not be stuck just in one role.

My opinion is to at least play all roles enough to at minimum be fairly capable of not feeding in all roles. You don't need to do extremely well at all of them, just as long as if you get behind you can avoid feeding.

From there onwards you can choose whether you want to focus on one role (while maintaining a reasonable standard for other roles) or have a primary and secondary (still maintaining that reasonable standard).

That way, you can be either incredibly good at one role or be really good at one and pretty good at another, but at least in both cases if you get put into neither you can hold your own.

I suggest maining one role and learning to be at least decent in Support. If you pick "Main Role/Sup", you'll never have a bad surprise auto-fill, and you'll still have your main role, I'd say at least around 70% of the time. Depends if you take something super popular like Mid or not, but to give you my personal example, I pick "Top/Fill" (not even Sup, I actually put Fill secondary), and over the last 97 games, I got Sup 6 times, and no other position to fill at all. That's more than 90% of my main role. Again it can be a bit less if you take a more popular position than my Top, but it's never really low.

So just focus on one main role to be really good at, and then simply learn Sup a little to not auto-lose when you have to go there.

It's important to be able to play all roles well, and excel in two of them. Sometimes, you might get placed in off-role, you need to at least be able to play to a certain standard. Knowledge is power, the more you know about the game, the better player you will be. Now, as far as maining something, if you're willing to put in the effort to learn all the tricks of your main role, then pick one role and focus on it. But actually do learn everything about it. For example, ADC, you should learn how to kite properly, maximizing DPS, dodging, farming, itemization, runes, synergy with support, match ups, teamfighting etc. It's still good to know some other role as ell, but if you want to focus on just ADC, then you need to be a god about it, otherwise you might find yourself getting pushed to the side by an unfavorable meta.

In general 2-3 roles is the amount roles you should know how to play, maining one included in that 3 is enough.
