Champion Icon Unlocks

With all the fairly new additions of match history tracking I was thinking it'd be a cool idea to have some sort of achievement for champions that would unlock their icon for you to use as a summoner icon. For example, playing some number of matches, say 500 or so, with a particular champion would unlock you their portrait (just recycle the one used in game, or maybe slightly adjusted versions Braum ).

I think it's cool that certain game modes and events occasionally reward players with icons based on champions but they're almost always from a very condensed group, like Ziggs and Teemo.

However, the issues with this idea:

  • Champion art is still continually being updated and will be for quite some time
  • Potential loss of revenue

I don't really have a solution for the aforementioned problems, yet I'm not even sure if those would create such an ordeal. Still, this is just something that was on my mind and was wondering what anyone else thought of it. It'd be a fun way to show one's love for a champion in a way that promotes gameplay as well.

Actually, this would probably not work, at least with those unlock parameters. I don't think it could be "play x-amount of matches with y" because then games would be filled with even more bots. Instead, maybe 200 wins or 100 kills with R-ability (if it is an offensive one) or something along those lines. Dunno, just thoughts.
