Flex Queue???

So im not entirely understanding this whole flex queue thing? Three games in a row i get 2 bronze 5 players on my team while the other team gets to have diamonds, plats, etc. I don't understand at all how it is balanced. I get that it is supposed to be its own thing, but there should be some sort of gauging that takes into account what your solo rank is....
