Rift Herald Weak Point Bug

Has anyone noticed hitting the weak point on Rift Herald is buggy? Sometimes even when you and the jungler have him completely stationary, it won't trigger. I was Hecarim, Qing and autoing him in the back, you'd think I would have hit it at least once just wailing on it for 60 seconds.
