What to do when you're ahead in mid

Hi all,

Been seeing this debate come up a bit now, but what do you think is the ideal thing to do in a game where you're ahead in mid lane (i.e. you've killed the enemy mid laner) if your teammates are losing their lanes? On one hand, if you stay mid, you can continue to dominate the opposing mid laner and effectively take them out of the game. On the other hand, you can roam and try to get your teammates back in teh game as well, but risk letting the enemy mid laner catch up and possibly even take your tower.

Which is the best strategy in higher level (Diamond+) play?

Higher level is irrelevant.

You should roam bot (preferably with jungler), get them 2 kills, take bot tower, take dragon, and then return mid lane.

Sounds intense but almost every game that I win mid I do this (I main mid in low gold ELO).

Depends on the laner you're using. AD champs for example and Akali for some reason tear down turrets fast, so if you're ahead in mid and can get a solokill, you can easily threaten to destroy the tower within one or two waves.

On the other hand, CC based AP Champions like Xerath or Lissandra should probably roam towards a lane, usually bot lane, that has a lot of objective presence.
