if your dumb 5th pick insists on wanting to play season 4 kassadin and your first pick only wants to instalock lux support and wants no part in a trade

because I don't trust you to play that champ, or because you're last pick and the champ is too popular to play poker with.

I'm as free to ban champs I don't like playing with as I'm free to ban champ I don't like playing vs.

Honestly... No. I've played Shaco Support for a full year prior to his recent rework (so he was considered a troll pick at the time) and the HUGE majority of players preferred discussing the pick and letting me try even when unsure about it, rather than using their ban against me, even though I was hovering him every time to give my mates the opportunity to ban him.

The "too many" greatly depends on your opinion about this. Personally, I prefer someone banning my pick to someone not saying anything and tilting for the slightest disappointing situations involving me. I accepted self-bans as part of the process and I have alternate plans if that happens. Enemy team can ban my champ anyway, so I already should have a solution to offer in this case.
