Ornn has unlocked the potential of this game (Megathread)
Ornn is obviously going to give one entire team a huge advantage because of the items that he can upgrade for his team. This is going to most likely be a pretty large sized problem, however this has brought light to a really cool solution.
Before I announce the idea I have I would also like to point out that this could be a potential rune fix for when runes reforged are released.
Secondly before you downvote take into consideration that I am in no way capable of balance so take any numbers you see as with a grain of salt. They are just reference numbers. Consider the outcome of the concept.
DORAN ITEM SLOT
A new item slot added for your starter item which grows throughout the game or is based on the item picked. This is meant to be in place of runes. You can pick one at the start of the game and you cannot change it. Here are some concepts
20 health + 10 per level
5 Ability power + 2 per level
2 magic pen + 1 per level
Unique passive: Restore 3 + (1 per level) mana when a unit is killed
40 health + 15 per level
1 armor + 1 per level
1 magic resist + 1 per level
1 health regen per 5 + 1 per level
Unique passive: Blocks 4 + (1 per level) damage from basic attacks and single target spells (halfed for dots)

20 health + 12 per level
5 Attack damage + 2 per level
2% armor pen + 1% per level
Unique passive: Restore 3 + (1 per level) health when a unit is killed
*This looks strange but keeps reading before you think its a bad idea. Remember runes dont exist with this concept
New Doran Items:
Dorans Scope: (ranged only) 50 bonus attack range 1% crit + 1 % per level 1% attack speed + 1% per level
Unique passive: Crits deal 25% more damage
Dorans Knife (melee only) 5 Attack damage + 1 per level 1% crit + 1 % per level 1% attack speed + 1% per level
Unique passive: Crits deal 25% more damage
*Lets pause here and talk about reworked crit before we keep going
So the new Crit modifier is 0% so 100 damage crit deals 100 damage (its impossible the way I thought it out) . Crit is meant to be a late game stat are we are going to try and make it just that. So each
item will now give 25% bonus crit damage (15% when not finished). So say you have a Doran crit item and 2
items. You now have a 75% crit modifier. 100 damage crit now deals 175 damage. So it looks like a huge nerf right? Well it kind of isnt because adcs now have a bonus 50 range because their early game is going to be garbage. Well the kicker to it is when they build

60 Attack damage
20 Crit
Unique passive: Gain 1% crit damage for every 1% crit you have. (This is not capped at 100% crit)e
With 3 crit items including
crit damage will be 275% which is more than live. Its something to consider
The real reason for this change is that ADC's will not be rushing this item anymore because it really only becomes effective when you have a bunch of crit already. The damage is down but the the crit damage will be increasing by much more if you stack even more crit. Maybe follow up with a
for even more crit damage. Again dont take my numbers seriously but think of the concept.
The rest of the items could be Champion specific such as
or Ornn or
boontooth necklace
Oh! and Ornns passive could give a bonus +2 levels on all allied champions Doran item as his new passive.
