Traps!

So ive been wondering why traps can catch you mid-air, kinda like hooks and so on, but When 
ults over them he can just continue sprinting. I mean they changed the way 
charm work so that it charms someone after they dash, but when ults over the 
chompers for example, they do nothing.. why?
