Nautilus
So
caught a few buffs in 7.15 to his Q and R, but I don't think that this is what's really holding the champion back from competing with the stronger meta tanks at the moment. Let's compare him to
&
since those are undoubtedly the strongest tanks currently.
The first thing that I believe holds Nautilus back is his insanely low MS. He currently sits in the lowest MS tier bracket of 325 compared to Cho at 345 and Mao at 335. Frankly 325 base MS feels awful. I get that he's a big armored mofo holding an anchor, but even a 5 MS buff would make the champion feel much better.
The second thing is mana costs. Most tanks have one bread and butter ability that they can spam during a fight to churn out some kind of damage. Cho's E only costs 30 mana at all ranks, and Mao's Q costs 50 mana at all ranks, but Naut's E starts at 50 mana and goes up to 90 at max rank. This causes Nautilus to run criminally low on mana nearly all the time, and since
aren't currently meta it's difficult to itemize mana into your build with
.
I play a lot of tanks, and I would like to see Naut be able to hold his own versus other tanks at least. This is just my 2 cents comparing him to more successful tanks. Thanks for the read.
