Aurelion's Future Rework

Hey guys!

Thank you for the rework to Kindred - while this champion isn't entirely smoothed out yet as being still a somewhat squishy ADC more than jungler, Kindred plays a lot smoother in jungle camps now, though the Eternal Hunters lacks early game survive-ability against being hard countered/hunted themselves, this post isn't about that.

For whatever reason, the champions I tend to love most seem to be the most unique in play and design, and Aurelion is certainly one of them.

I'm making a plea that you don't remove his orbiting passive and w - its Aurelion's most defining feature especially in teamfights.

Instead, have two sets of stars orbiting in opposite rotation in order to make its use easy and it will allow for Aurelion to function in any direction. By doing this you can reduce each star's individual damage and there'll be a cool visual effect as a result as well when the stars appear to be three, then six, and back again because of their counterrotation.

His Q and E may be a place for where there's improvement - There needs to be a risk factor in diving on top of Aurelion - Whether its the first champion who does so gets a CC effect of some kind or Aurelion has an ability to create a 360 repulse to shove diverse back into his stars, its all a factor (If having this all the time tests badly, read down below for concepts on his R)

His Q in more than one animated series has been shown as a gag - often a league of legends toon will show this MASSIVE terrifying star bearing down on a group - only upon impact to have rather tiny damage numbers.

As it is now, its a fun toy - creating giant stun fields coming from way out of base, but beyond that, I don't know what to say.

Aurelion's abilities I think could benefit from a stacking system. Maybe its because I play a lot of Kindred, the new Galio, etc. - but a periodic element to Aurelion Sol would be pretty cool - Pulsar, reflecting his Celestial Nature, or again, some kind of stacking effect.

Pulsar could, just as a very rough thought, be Aurelion's defensive risk factor - Enemy Champions can still dive onto Aurelion Sol, but they'd have to time it correctly, and make it part of his passive - a slowly pulsating field that periodically pushes enemy and neutral monsters off of him, and it would fit his personality ("Insignificant Insect!") making their window to deal damage to him in melee skill based and a bit more limited.

Aurelion's Q could have a gravitational effect which would be cool - anyone caught in the black hole field would be pulled towards its center a short distance before the stun goes off.

None of these ideas are hard and fasts, however I would genuinely like to see more celestial utility elements in this champion WITHOUT removing the cool and fun play factor his orbiting stars give - he just needs to be more well rounded, including not having to depend on the *direction* his stars are orbiting for use.

He's a wonderful risk-reward guardian in his current incarnation - if a little boring in his Q and E (building up speed while traveling in just *one* direction is a VERY awkward mechanic. What summoner doesn't click in all directions with their champion? (to keep their movements unpredicatble).

Aurelion IS FUN - he has great voice lines though they could be better balanced, like "boop" after an auto attack kill is great!.

He just needs to be more well rounded. Let him keep his passive/w ring but give it more utility and a bit less damage and ZERO directional bias.

Let his Q and E likewise have more utility, even his R.

Aurelion's R actually pales in comparison to say Lux's, and they're fairly similar, except Aurelion's is obviously designed, currently, as a defensive mechanism.
Building that idea into his ult, and only, makes for a very difficult play - Do I use it now to clean up or did I already use it to help my positioning?

Aurelion needs a two stage R of sorts - Maybe have it so that his R is more like Riven; He can channel-fire (or just fire) a powerful blast, but only within a certain window. Activating his R once creates a protective pulsar zone or a gravitational zone around his rings (or both) for a short period of time, drawing targets inside out towards his stars, or drawing ones outside in.

After a period, Aurelion will be able to fire a powerful blast of magical and physical damage, as he's the creator and destroyer.

There's no need to go exactly by these ideas - this is just some in-depth spitballing. I would like to reiterate Adding a gravitational like effect would be a big boost to his theme and utility, but even more, his circling stars favor only one direction, it needs to be both for newer players to use with ease and more experienced players to use with utility.

Aurelion needs more utility instead of a total redesign, and a risk/reward defense system against melee champions - I would greatly miss the spinning Star Dragon and his celestial look if there were a Galio-like rework!

Even if it were to be a few years from now.

Thanks!
