Do you still get 10 points for killing the Ascended Xerath?

I've just lost back to back games in ascension 197-200.

Both games ended with an ally securing the ascension buff and us losing. The first due to the enemy team securing a relic at 197-197 while our champion was ascending. The second due to the enemy team rushing our Ascended Shaco at 194-195, and while we got 2 kills before they killed him (and would have destroyed the 5v5 fight) the 5 points for killing an ascended meant they hit 200.

Of course I'm a little salty... but I'm wondering, are we getting points for killing ascended Xerath? In both games my team was behind and making a comeback, so I didn't get the chance to notice whether we got that point boost or not, and since it isn't listed on the page I came here to ask. Especially now that the buff has essentially cost me back-to-back games, if it's not awarding points I'd rather just tell my team to not bother going for it.
