@Riot: Quick ARAM improvment suggestions from someone who plays it a lot
I get that SR gets and deserves the most attention, but it's been a while since ARAM has gotten any and I can think of a few changes to improve the experience.
- Remove true sight from
. If you know where the invis champ is and want to jump to them that's fine. But champs like
should not be revealed by a spell that probably over half the team is taking.
is already strong enough. - Reduce the CD on
. As it stands, the active is basically worthless even against a full team of mages. It'd be nice to have the item be more effective against the wave-clear comps. - Increase the resale value on the starting items or reduce their price. With the exception of
in some cases, I think the ARAM starting items are noob traps. The starting gold is large enough that you can buy a solid component item(s) which tends to be better than the small amounts of several stats from one item since you start in team fight mode and need your primary stat. Not to mention it is important to have an efficient build path in ARAM because you don't usually get to decide when you shop and your item slots fill quickly. If you start with a
it would not uncommon to get a
on your first death, but it would if you started
.
Less quick changes:
- Add an official "I'm going to re-roll. Any want this champ?" button/feature to champ select. It happens in 80% of my games and I'd consider it core to ARAM. Would be a good QoL change.
- Stop people from dodging. More harsh re-que time penalties or give people the same champ in the next lobby. I think I see more people doge in ARAM than due to autofill and they usually wait until the last second too.
- MAYBE make the whole champ pool available to everyone. To counter the ARAM accounts and prevent free-week champs from showing up in every game. But I can see the logic behind giving a non-owned or free champ to someone.
- I also hear horror stories about rampant bots in low mmr games used to level accounts. Annie bot and Irelia bot are the only bots I know.
Thanks.
