The real reason riven's winrate dropped
Well maybe not the #1 reason but one change I've found that affects Riven more than you might think is the increased AA range on a lot of melee champions. I assume the range increase was to make minion block less painful for a lot of melee champions, but what this also does is allow some champions to actually AA riven while being out of range of her W stun. One champion I know for sure can do this is Garen.
Now obviously there's no trouble with casting W as you E or Q so you don't miss, but when you last hit a minion and Garen walk up to poke you normally you could W as he AAs and stun him, but now his range is longer than rivens W and in a match up like this missing 1 stun can cost you not getting that last AA/Q off before garen silences and GGpins you to demacian hell.
edit: Addition info range on Riven's w is 135 (10 longer than the shortest melee range) Also remembered Garens AA was changed from 125 range to 175 with the juggernaut patch.
Also forgot rivens winrate went up maybe 2% this patch from 5.22...and this (5.23) was the patch some champs had AA increased, so maybe this hasn't affected rivens winrate. But it does allow some melee champions a slight edge over riven they didnt have before... long as riven isn't casting W out of Q or E :D
