is matchmaking this bad for new players on this game?

I recently decided to give this game another try because i thought it was pretty cool before but over the past day i notice that i play against people who you can obviously tell have played before flaming because i dont know what i should be doing or how to do something. Isnt the whole point of leveling up to learn, i find it incredibly unfun to play with people who are so much better and dont understand why i get put with these people if im bad and havent played before. I dont care about losing a close fair game but losing 39-6 while the enemy taunts you and says you suck doesnt make me want to keep playing.

well MMR is pretty good at sorting you out in like ~20 games, its not so bad, yes those first 20 will be more or less toss ups on who you get.

but after that it has a good grasp, you may find yourself improving quickly if you're new, or RNG carried your first few so it could take longer for you to fall and find out you aren't the best of players.

the real offender is the LP system.

Well anyone skilled can just make a low level account and stomp everyone. As much as beginner friendly the matchmaking system tries to be, it is rigged. Just had a team full of unranked players below level 30 but we were matched against three gold ranked players plus a level 18. Not saying my team was bad but there is a huge disadvantage we had in runes/masteries and still we almost won. You will also notice that when you are below level 30, you will encounter tons of trash plat yasuo players out of the blue

Yeah, the game is extremely unfriendly to new players. "Smurfing", which is when experienced players make new accounts to play at low levels, is a practice implicitly encouraged by Riot. Many of the players that are the biggest dicks in the game make smurfs so they can whoop ass on new players and feel big about themselves; in fact for a new player in SR mode you are going to find guys like this in at least every other game. They aren't even good players, that's why they need to go against new players who don't even have full runes and masteries in order to whoop their ass.

It really doesn't get better, but at least once you get level 30 you have full runes and masteries and are objectively as strong as the people you are competing against.

Smurfs are ruining the game for new players, most of them have perma-banned accounts and are taking it out on new players. Its a pretty crappy experience, I know when I first started it wasn't so bad, but it has gotten worse. How do I know? Well I have a Smurf account, but I only play champions I don't have any experience on (its mostly so I can see how the champ works) and I remain completely silent. However I notice people flaming newer players pretty badly, its absolutely disgusting. Best thing you can do is /mute all.
