A few ideas for an Ekko Mini REWORK
Hi everyone, I've been maining Ekko for a while as a mid laner, i'm currently plat I on EUW. Playing a lot of ekko has made me think about the champ and how to improve his gameplay. He does feel a bit underwelming and is definitely harder to use at his fullest than most champs in the game. On the other hand his kit is quite versatile and he's pretty strong when ahead (like most assassin's).
To me here is ekko in his current state : (as an AP mid laner)
Weak laning phase, no harassing tool, need to proc passive to make an even trade which can be tricky (or impossible if enemy has CC). Has good waveclear after having a few points in Q and some CDR or enough AP to 1 hit ranged minions. His waveclear then becomes godly. He has pretty good mobility but needs to have CDR and a few points in E to unlock it. (further weakness in early game). He has a very long stun that needs setup, pretty hard to use in 1v1, very strong when not seen (the makes him a great 2v2 champ or ganker) His late game can be pretty underwhelming depending on the amount of CC on the other side. the MS sap becomes very strong tho as he levels. Ult is great because it is hard to land but rewarding.
**Balancing problems : ** Any buff to base damage (to make his early game better) would benefit to his mr Hide : Tank ekko. Making his ult or his W easier to land will break him His kit is pretty overloaded already so adding stuff to it is kinda meh
Propositions: The stun could be removed as it doesn't really fit his playstyle, which in my mind is very "hit and run" like. It would definitely kill tanky ekko and make ekko's balancing much easier. The stun's purpose gives him a good ganking potential, great utility (too great) and in a 1v1 if you land it it's probably to ensure the double Q hit + some amped auto's. Removing his stun will permit to implement some of the following ideas:

Shield duration increased, shield decay over time

Q double hit mecanism : Once the Q hits a target, ekko can hit Q again to bring it back before full duration, sacrificing % dmg on the ability in the process. For example: if he brings it back straight away he looses 50% dmg on the "return of the Q", if he does it 1 s later he looses "40%" etc in a linear way from 50% dmg to 100% dmg. -> Easier passive proc will make his laning much easier, adds a layer to his Q gameplay which will make him even more fun

W: To balance the removal of the stun, making the setup time lower and the CD lower could be the way to go.

E : When a target (any target) is inside his W, he gains range on the second part of his E similarly to how caitlyn's range improves on traps. E'ing on a target in this fashion could reduce E's cooldown or have a "cooldown steal" effect. Mana refresh or Cd refresh on kill could be nice for laning aswell
-> Creating this synergy to make ekko's "assassination" really good. He throws W on the carries and can move passed the front line in a good E gaining a good shield in the process which enable him a little time to assassinate.
- R : improving AOE to 375 from 350
An other idea could be transfering some dmg from his passive to his E but I don't think it's really that necessary. High mobility champions, and CC would still be his great weakness.
