so im plat 2 and i've always played locked screen but i think if i use unlocked then it will make a lot of mechanics and stuff easier... my only question about it is how long would it take to adapt to it? i know it isn't the same for everyone but i would like to know how long it took everyone else to.

I don't think screen lock even existed when I started playing. If it did, I unlocked it as soon as I could figure out how. I played a lot of Starcraft before this so I was used to pushing the screen around. I also found it annoying that the mini-map was on the wrong side compared to starcraft and so play with my interface mirrored

Turn off locked camera.

Hold space to center on your camera if you lose track instead. Play ARAM/bot matches to get used to fluidly moving the camera as part of your gameplay.

Or play Star Craft/any other RTS. That gets you used to it REAL quick.

I don't remember exactly how long it took me, but I don't think it took very long. Maybe a week or two? I adjusted pretty fast and now it feels weird to play with locked screen.

I don't remember. I've been playing games that use an unlocked screen since 1994.

Dune 2 was the game.

you only need to unlock on an as needed basis - When i play lux and Im running towards a kill - I unlock so that I can line up the snipes <3

I also do this so that I can tp to specific objects easier.

I personally play semi-locked, myself, and I know of a couple of high rated players that do as well, Dyrus comes to mind though I don't know if he switched.

The thing to remember is to unlock your screen (with Y) when you need to, then relock it when you don't want to spend the extra processes to move the screen about, spacebar can work too if you want to hold it.

besides there's not a HUGE diffrenence between semi-locked and unlocked (full locked is a different story, if you need to look around), and adaptation to full unlock would just take registering muscle memory... so that depends on you.

I couldn't tell you.

I'd researched the game when I was learning it and one of the main pieces of advice I'd seen for new players was to unlock the screen, so I just did it.

I'd adapted over the duration of a game, but I didn't really have much prior history with locked camera.

It took me a few days at absolute most. You know where your thumbs always are? Push your thumbs about one millimeter down and turn off the locked camera. If you need to unlock it to aim a skillshot or check how a fight's going, release your spacebar. Then press and hold it again!
