  1. See, recently I've started enjoying Aurelion Sol AurelionSol , whom is a battle mage but sucks when it comes to close range. I'm using the rune Glacial Augment due to the safeness and it performs very well. But I become abnormally discouraged when playing against something like ZedZed , YasuoYasuo , KatarinaKatarina and DianaDiana that have a constant close up on me. Since the assassin meta has been up for quite a long time. I'm getting discouraged to the point where I simply don't want to play him even so when he is my favourite champion, lorewise, playwise everything. So for the help I'd ask is your tips, tricks, and advice if viable against assassins at all. Thank you for any reply!

How to beat assassins pre champ select:

  1. Hover AurelionSol
  2. Enjoy his art and look at some of his skins (2)
  3. Pick Irelia

God forbid the champ isnt a literal free win anymore for its mains and has actual bad matchups.

Look up videos for mages vs assassins. It’s a little counter intuitive to what most people do with Sol but I usually let them push me in and only do last hits so I can farm safely. Then when they walk forward I will poke em. Backing before 6 is smart so you can have all your resources. I’m not perfect at this but it really helps because if you have to retreat you don’t have to run super far. Once you are ahead you can roam.

Tbh, I also like to play A sol, I picked him up as my first champ cuz he looked cool, and one tip is to have your jungler gank frequently. Also, you want to contest every cs assassins try to get with your w. Look at their mana before an all in, zed can't do anything if he doesnt have any. Finally, once you get a solid lead, just roam. Just like playing against Kassadin, you do NOT want to lane against assassins when they hit power spikes, especially since it's a 1v1, and mages like A sol are more of a teamfighter, not a duelist. Assassins have to be patient in the late game, when you group, they have to wait, and that takes away their chances to all in. If you want a build, I go roa, swiftness boots, rylais, deathcap, and liandrys. then it's all situational. Hope this helps, and sorry I had to write an essay. :D
