Goodbye League

It was fun! Well until the end.

Riot has completely ruined the game for me, i've been playing since beta and the game is in a state where playing isn't worth it anymore. All of season 7 was a slowly spiraling trend of weaker tower, greater consequences for every death, and added gameplay quirks (rift herald, Ziggs rework, etc.) to make games end punishingly quickly. A great gameplay experience does not include the entire game being decided by a solo kill in mid lane at minute 5. Add on the balance being aggressively catered towards snowballing games quickly and soon the number of enjoyable games (the number of tight contests where comebacks were had, or thrown, where teamplay was tested and skill was measured) dropped from 1 in every 3 game to about 1 per 10. Then the death nail: Pre-season. Pre-season has been nearly unplayable the last few years due to the radical ways in which riot is "fixing" a game that was already fun. This pre-season introduced the death of all rewarding gameplay. The new rune system is tuned to feature blisteringly fast kills due to the lack of base durability, especially in carry roles. It was honestly painful enough that we longtime players were being asked to fundamentally re-learn the entire game, but the new game isn't worth learning. Even if i know the exact statistical value of electrocute on champions it won't prevent the lightning fast assassinations of a zed wearing it. The game has essentially had the Golden Gun cheat code enabled for all non-tanks and while i'm sure fans of The Call Of Duty franchise are overjoyed a longtime MOBA player like myself has had enough. This new "League Of Legends" game isn't fun, it isn't rewarding, it isn't even competitive. It IS random, new player friendly, and quick. Maybe riot wants the game to be more similar to a pick up and play mobile game intended for children. But i don't want to play such a game, so i'm signing off today. Thanks for 6+ years of Fun Riot, shame on you for destroying this beautiful project i was so happy to be a part of and support all these years.
