What champs do you guys suggest for a newer mid laner? Who should I spam play in order to work on my mechanics such as farming, positioning, and roaming? Also someone who I can actually play in ranked. (Only Silver 5 so any advice/tips would be appreciated) Thanks!
A good start for any new mid laners is Annie. You get manna back for killing units with her point and click Q so farming is easy peasy, and her lvl 6 power spike is one of the best in the game. Malz is an easy starter too. Easy to push laners under there own twr so it's hard for them to keep up in exp and farm. Plus you have a spellshield and a really good ult even when behind. Lux is annoying asf right now and a good poke mid. Easy to learn. Just got buffed a little bit as well.
Also a quick warding tip. Do not ward the bushes on the side of the lane. Make sure you know where the jg is first so you don't just jumped and ward past the bush over the wall. This way you can see the jg coming before they're in the bush.

great at teaching you how to teamfight, decent farming if you can manage at least an auto here or there
Annie is the go to beginner midlane burst mage, simple rotation, good damage, easy to land skillshots and is pretty safe lane phase.
I know people will lklely not mention him but talon is a good one if you are a tad more aggressive in the lane.
