AFKers, Salty Players, and Ranked

I am currently making my way through promo games, and it seems that every game I play someone quits, trolls, rages, or just refuses to communicate. It's hard to move up in ranked without a team, and my Solo-Duo experience has been less than par. Any suggestions for improving the situation?
