Fixing League, one step at a time.
I'm nearly 100% certain that everyone will downvote this thread just cause they disagree. Please , heck, if you feel this issue deserves arguing then UPVOTE it, idgaf if your response is "hell no" , others might feel otherwise......
Anyways, here is a list of points on what the problems are:
- Toxicity through the fucking roof, all elo's.
- The inability to carry games, => more toxicity as your team throws like !@#$ crazy.
- The different meta's across ranks, silver = yolo 1 v 1's, plat+ = teamfights (sometimes)
And a mild rant on league in general:
The problem with being a "tank" is that you just lack any ability to fight back vs a fed ADC etc., if you're even a smidgen behind you just get blown up. It doesn't even matter if you get in their face, peel right, and (if YOU were the ADC ) could blow them up. Tank = useless in silver elo, every time I think to pick shen, maokai, sejuani, mundo, etc., i'd just do nothing simply because my team doesn't know what "stay behind the peeling tank" and "idgaf how suiqhy the 3/10 teemo is, that Tristana is 15/3 fucking shoot HER" in teamfights.
Toxicity arises from when others make mistakes and lose more and more. One death is nearly always the death bell for the lane in silver, it's practically guaranteed that they'll feed like fucking crazy. It's hard to be "nice" when midlane is 0/6 despite repeated pings/ganks, and you get blamed just because you decided to farm up a little and catch up gold wise.
"fucking noob jungle, uninstall" "I'm TOP ffs, wtf do u expect me to do" "I PINGED ASSHOLE" "YOU PINGED 2 SECONDS BEFORE YOU DIED. I WAS TOP. SERIOUSLY I EVEN PINGED YOU TO BACK OFF" "!@#$ scrub get muted."
Yay, and now when he reports me for "toxicity" and "refusing to communicate" I should be totally fine....and no impact on my next games attitude when THAT games top starts feeding and flaming me.
I am not a toxic person. But after 8 matches in a row where at least one lane is feeding and blaming me while im jungling, supporting, IDGAF any role really, it pisses the fuck out of me.
And by feeding I mean going 0/5 and above, I'm COMPLETELY FINE with a 0/2 by 10, if your CS is comparable to the enemies IDGAF about those 2 deaths. It's fine, just keep farming and you'll catch up. Otherwise I'll just gank for you, there's lots I can do to help a losing lane (even if it is flaming me....)
The thing is that I see REALLY good players sometimes, players that quite frankly perform perfect peels, assassinations, etc. And yet they're toxic like crazy! However , more than once, they were toxic because they got killed 2 times and felt that they were going to be useless the entire game.
Luckily I got them (and myself) fed, and we proceeded to carry those games. I've done this with a Malzahar, Nasus, Ashe, even a Sejuani. and, to top it off, AFTER THE FIRST 2 KILLS THEIR TOXICITY EVAPORATED. LITERALLY, GONE!
They started saying "gj" and " thanks! nice play there btw". As the carries developed in one game, the support ditched our ADC and top just to save me and the mid. Every time in every teamfight he would die for us, and we would win the game. He was having fun, he would die and we would win the teamfight. He felt USEFUL. AS IN, ACTUALLY DOING SHIT. He was ALSO behind as fuck, like 0/6 but he was making it up with great plays.
The problem is that unless I ROFL stomp my lane WITH A HIGH DAMAGE DEALER, it is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO CARRY THE GAME. 100% IMPOSSIBLE. PERIOD. AND EVEN THEN......
The only time any of this shit @#$ works is WHEN AT LEAST ONE OTHER, ALSO DAMAGE DEALER, HELPS YOU.
I've lost games as YI OF ALL PEOPLE. I once went 6/0 by @#!$ 13 minutes, and we had like 10 kills on our team. We lost because my team threw oh so fucking hardcore, engaged without me, ditched me when I did come in, and so on.
Yet, when I go 3/6/10 Xin I win a game just because I'm helping along a 15/3 vayne. I peel and die for her, she cleans up we win. 2 capable people can carry a game, provided they are BOTH in damaging roles.
Rant sorta done.
But do you know what the main issue is? The cause of all this toxicity? This feeding and snowballing? The tunnel vision for kills?
THE KILL REWARDS.
Here is my proposal: Reduce first blood to 200 gold. Kill rewards to 100 gold. Done.
BOOM.
If your champion is nerfed by this THAT MEANS YOU ARE TO KILL DEPENDENT, AND THEREFORE BINARY, AND THEREFORE BROKEN IN THE FIRST PLACE.
If you NEED kills to be decent, that means that champion is BROKEN and unplayable. If you are fine with a decent amount then you will not be affected by this.
Reasons:
- Now if I die 2-3 times I can still come back to lane. I've ALREADY lost 1-2+ waves of CS, that's a hefty gold penalty to me, while the enemy is free-farming. why the FUCK are they supposed to get MORE gold? that's just making the lane IMPOSSIBLE to lane with. ONE fuck up means you lose lane......
2)"Fed people" will not be "fed" as much, someone who's 15/3 will not be impossible to counter or fight. They'll need to focus on farming too, so if they're spending all their times making YOUR lives miserable, they're losing out on the bigger cash they could get by farming.
- Now people would focus for kills only as a means to let themselves farm or get objectives, instead of ooh i wanna get fed and be OP. Average CS counts will rise as more people push, objectives get taken, and it will be a much more balanced game.
Rewarding for kills is fine, but have you ever thought that the enemy is GETTING PENALIZED ALREADY?
People sometimes have REALLY bad games. I usually go something like 17/2 with Xin, but sometimes I get a shitty game where I go 3/10. Does that mean I deserve the flame, and the blame, and the pain for being useless?? NO.
If I'm behind GIVE ME A DAMNED CHANCE WILL YA? I wanna be able to farm up and catch up. Killing me already ruined plenty of farming time, why give the enemy a huge buff too?
Seriously think about it. As another thread said, DIAMOND LEVEL PLAYERS have trouble in silver SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY DON'T GET FED ENOUGH. You CAN'T go 20/0 EVERY game, that shouldn't be a gaddamn win condition.
You have to go 20/0 since you have to get at least one kill for every 2 deaths your team has given, since to win you'll have to split push like crazy or 1v 1 or even 1 v 3 people like mad.
Now, a decent player can simply win by farming CS. The lane is won by CS, not by kills, and now your team will actually split push the goddamn lanes instead of staying mid in a poke-fest cause "we need to ace".
This is a buff for: Tanks, who never needed much gold anyways and now ADC's will be weaker. Divers/Bruisers, dying with a 1:1 or getting someone real low is damn good for your teams cleanup. Immobile mages, who frequently die and just can never reach their late-game potential since the game's over. (And other late-game's such as Nasus etc.)
Nerf for: Assassins who depend on being insanely fed and blow up enemy's ( I hate being on the receiving end -.- 0 counterplay) ADC's, you can't get just 2 kills in bot and win it by having more DPS. Now you need 5+ and even then they have a small chance if they outfarm you or get ganks. You also can't blow up tanks simply by being a tad ahead.
There, champs that are nerfed way to hard or depend on snowballing to much are broken to begin with. Why play a champ if the only way to win with it is to get fed like crazy? that means the champ itself is broken, which means eventually Rito will fix them too.
And toxicity will be reduced since "feeding" is no longer as big of an issue, you can still carry even if your lanes go 0/6 just by out-farming the enemy team and making plays. Still hard, but it makes your job a tad easier.
