Why I don't agree with Jungle changes in patch 8.10
I have played League since season 2 and jungle has always been one of my favorite roles to play. One of the aspects I loved about being a jungler was counter jungling. It required you to actively predict the enemy jungler's movements and required you to take risk. It's thrilling to have to go into enemy jungle to have to counter jungle knowing that if you aren't reading the map right or you make a false move you could be collapsed upon or even just caught by the enemy jungler while you're stealing a buff. That feeling of having to be stealthy and knowing things could go bad any time was really fun.
Rift scuttler to me has always been a little thing that you can grab on the way to something else, its a nice addition because its something else to do instead of just walking. However, the way it looks, it's a cute little critter that doesn't even fight back, you don't get the sense that this thing is important, that's why they had to put a huge health bar over it and make it glow. That still doesn't change the core problem, its a cute looking creature that doesn't fight back so why is it so important. Blue buff and red buff actually look like epic creatures, dragon and rift herald look like epic creatures. Rift scuttler looks like an hor d'oeuvres on the way to the main meal. Yet its now the single most important jungle "camp" in the game.
It makes junglers dependent on something that usually doesn't happen in low elo play which is having laners come out of their lane to help you. I'm a silver player, no shame, even if I ping the hell out of my laner to come help me do something they generally just sit in their lane and keep farming. They are more likely to come help me with dragon or a rift herald, something that visually looks valuable, because lets be honest most players dont know the hard numbers behind how important things really are, they go based on visuals, especially newer players. So if the enemy team has a laner that actually comes and helps they will almost definitely take the scuttler and possibly even score a kill, once that scuttle is taken you are looking at possibly a 2 level deficit which could get even worse if the same thing happens again. As a jungler it makes you so dependent early game on your team which will lead to toxic interactions.
TLDR Nerf fun aspect of jungling, counterjungling. Scuttles doesn't look valuable. Makes jungler dependent on laners coming to help secure scuttles.
