[Suggestion] My suggestions on Garen's mechanic tweaking
As we know, Garen's win rate had fallen so hard especially in high level ranking games. However, for most of medium-low level players, Garen is still OK to play with and counter.
I think the reasons for that include:
1, The high level players know, and play well to kite Garen, and medium-low level players cannot make the same performance.
2,
nerfed, and they all are good items for Garen.
3,
buffed/reworked, which are bane for Garen. (I know
works great for Garen, but he is not the only one have good synergy with it
).
The goals for Garen changing:
1, We need to make Garen kite-able if played correctly, but not too kite-able.
2, We need to reduce the difference on countering Garen between high and low skill level players, which means Garen can still make a play against kiting, but cannot be OP if they don't know how to kite correctly.
3, There are other issues for Garen's "Villain" mechanics, like sometimes it has unexpected target
. Also sometimes, Villain won't have much deter if they are
, and mage with
, because untouchable kite or CC.
4, Remain Garen's play style, build, combo identical as before, and still easy for beginners to learn.
My suggestions:
1, Remove the AA and E bonus 1% health true damage, and now have a buff on Garen, lets he get bonus movement speed when moving toward Villain (10/15/20%, range 2000). Ult active still do true damage as before.
Most of the time, if the Villain is a fragile carry, 1% health of true damage is not impacting, and they may have tank/sup to protect, make them hard to engage. If the Villain is a tank/fighter, they are not hard to engage, but they tend to have higher health and magic resist, and made Garen's ult 1500+ true damage hurts heavily. Now reduce the damage of ult, and increase the movement speed should makes Garen healthier in these situation.
2, "Villain" is determined by the most damage dealt to his teammates. the damage is calculated and refresh the target every 1 min. (wont change if in combat with villain)
It should not occasionally target a jungler/support, unless they carry the game
. Also, the enemy champions lane with Garen still not effected by the villain, unless they dealt much damage to carry the game.
