I just can't get around the concept of plants honestly
I tried to comprehend why someone would ever think of adding this to a game where your skills are supposed to matter, but I really fail to see how it affects playmaking and encourages skills.
If you happen to stumble on a plant, you get a benefit for litteraly no effort but the 0.5 second it takes to auto attack the plant. You meet with a honey fruit? Here get half your health and mana back. You see an orb thingy? Here le'ts reveal half the map for you and give you true sight of everything you hit on the way! Like revealing half the map wasn't enough of a reward for auto attacking a plant that just happened to be there anyway. And then there is the cancer cone that is used 50% of the time by someone who should die because he chased half way through the map and the other 50% is just people using it for extra mobility and getting to destination faster when they really shouldn't.
You trying to ward a certain area of the map? Well too bad for you maybe you should've went in the enemy jungle to see if there is a vision plant coz if there is one they can fuck up the 3 wards you just put around mid lane and dragon.
Oh so sad you got dived by your enemy laner and they about to run away! What they don't know tho is your jungle is coming to avenge you and they aint getting away with that 50 HP left. Oh wait! While they ran in YOUR JUNGLE they happened to stumble on one of those blessed blast cone and hop they are now over baron pit! Better luck next tiiiime.
Oh oh oh what do we have here? Lee sin trynna kill your blue buff while he think you ain't there? Well surprise for him you ARE here and you have more health than him so he aint getting away that easy! Ooooh fuck here is a honey fruit let him heal 2-3 times and now you are fucked sry.
Plants have no counterplay. If they are here well they are and the first one to attack it gets the buff. There is litteraly no down side to attacking a plant AT ALL. The only thing I could see is someone eating a honey fruit while he is chased by 2 persons an then die because of the slow, otherwise in any 1v1 scenario the first one to get to a honey fruit pretty much won unless the other can flee from the person they were chasing.
Riot gave as an example of play around plants how a ranged champion could AA a blast cone and bring someone back to them to kill them (like ranged vs meelee isn'T cancer enough already) but honestly how many times have yall seen this? 0 for me. All the time I see someone else than me use a blast cone it's to escape a situation they should've been punished for or get an extra mobility boost their champion isn't supposed to have (seriously there is a reason why darius can't jump over walls).
And those fucking vision orbs are completely contrary to how vision is supposed to work. Teamates are supposed to help each other keeping objectives and danger zones warded while using tools like control wards and sweeper to deny the enemy vision. But with those plants well who cares if you keep a zone constantly warded and deny vision to the enemy they can just use an auto attack and reveal any ward you put in a location. Wanna gank bot lane? Here use this plant that just happened to spawn here to see wich bush is warded. And if it IS warded you can just destroy the ward afterward coz it will stay revealed!
And who needs to back after clearing 5 camps on first clear when you can just eat a fruit and go back to ganking/farming! Totally fair and healthy. Anyone can have sustain right?
I am just done with low risk/high reward shit (wich in this case is litteraly no risk at all). And the fact the plants position is semi RNG based makes it even worse. Some games you can litteraly make your whole team jump over dragon wall with one auto attack. Some others it's baron wall! Yayyyyyy. Diversity in games! Every game feels unique! wow!
I understand that was the goal Riot tried to achieve by this addition (plants), but I seriously fail to have fun around ''decisions'' made with plants in game. Between raptors and krugs taking 3/4 of your health unless you are Vi or Shyvana, Towers being made out of paper and balance being kind of clumsy, I feel like plants are just the unfun addition I really didn't need at the time and anytime I see one I wished they didn't exist. They are ALL OVER THE MAP it's litteraly impossible to have a fight going on without any plants around unless you are in your base or super far from the jungle in a lane.
