-30% effectiveness for knock ups and displacements +X Movement Speed +15 Magic Resist +15 Armor


Why? There are no counters for knock backs or displacements.

I feel like this would be more of a niche item geared towards tanks.

Since they are "weighted" I think they should be the slowest of all the boots.

EDIT: The numbers should probably be adjusted for balancing. These were just some rough numbers I came up with.

EDIT2: Another possible way of implementing this type of "tenacity" could be in a different item.

Would look something like this:

HEAVY PLATE: -20% effectiveness for knock up and displacements 30 armor 30 magic resist

Builds from chainmail and negatron cloak.

I think having it be both defensive values, while also granting you that kind of CC reduction would probably make these a bit too potent. I think they would need stats that are a bit more niche.

I agree that there needs to be some kind of item to counter knock ups since it’s the only displacement without something to reduce its duration and it’s very common. The only problem is finding out the numbers. I think weighted boots is a good idea, just depends on its numbers.

Can't happen. They use knock ups and displacements in certain instances BECAUSE of the guaranteed CC duration. The time the enemy spends in the air is directly tied to things like how long that champion takes to close the gap, use their ultimate, or follow up on a combo.

If you changed that it would screw up dozens of champion timings all across League.

We DEFINITELY need some sort of knock-up counter at this point, there are WAY too many types of knocks in League

No, there's no counterbuilding for Knockbacks, Displacements or knock ups. There is counterplay, typically, to most abilities that have knock ups or displacement. Some less, some more, but they still have counterplay. That's not even mentioning the fact that a majority of knock ups themselves, already have less duration than most stuns or snares.

It would be interesting a boot enchantment if they brought those back. +100hp, 20% tenacity, 20% displacement resist, -10ms or something like that seems like it would fit the theme

I think knock ups or displacements don't have counters because Riot sees that as CC that should work no matter what. These rioter comment explains this thoughs on CC. Their stance might have changed on it though since its 8 months old

i think a better Weighted Boots should be this:

Iron Boots

immune to displacements (but not CC)

-50% movement (-25% movement if built from item 2422 )

+25 armor.

you gain full immunity to displacements at the cost of being slow as hell. because why would a tank need to be fast? yes it will make getting back into the action allot harder but chances are a top lane tank will have teleport. and they also gain movement from other items. so by building say item 3142 that'll reduce the slow down by 40% leaving only a -10% slow down. and of course being made of iron it needs to add defense.

I like the idea of Weighted Boots; maybe instead of being its own separate set though, it could be a "modification" to current boots? Like, for example, it could be like old boot enchantments(RIP these). It would build out of tier 2 boots and therefore give all of the stats of its predecessor... but lose a certain, indeterminant amount of MS as a result in exchange for the knock up/displacement reduction.

What does the "-30% effectiveness for displacements" do?

Does Blitz yank you in that much faster? Or won't he get you close enough for that follow-up knockup? Either way, I say it would be broken; One for benefit of the Blitz team, one for the benefit of the opponent. I don't think there can be such an effect to counteract displacement effects.

edit; also, animations would have to be changed for that and it would be too heavy task for Riot to undertake.
