Reactions to New and Reworked Champions
average player and boards reaction: They don't spend time and practice actually learning the new kit. Don't spend time learning optimal items and build paths. Whaaa this champ too weak. I can't beat a lane bully as a late game focused champ with this new/reworked champ. It's way too hard to demolish lane opponent... rework/new champ too weak. Buff now. Buff buff buff buff. Why haven't you buffed yet? (buff incoming). That's not enough... it's gonna need bigger buff than that. Like maybe let me nuke 30% of my opponent's hp every 8 sec with a 400+ range basic ability on my melee champ... that would make them playable. Not even good rito... just playable. (champ gets moderate buff, people figure out meta build and build path for champ, people get moderately knowledgeable of how to use the champ's kit) What the crap rito... don't you know anything? Lern (learn) to balance. New/reworked champ at 60% winrate off the buff you gave them and 20% playrate. So braindead freelo. I might as well afk if enemy team gets it on their team. Why did you buff? And the kit is just toxic. Way too much damage, cc, mobility, and sustain. And they're tanky without even building tank items.
(I can't wait - much sarcasm in this statement - to see reworked aatrox join this list of champs) And before everyone goes freaking out... if you're smarter than this.. then no I did not just mock you. Because you are smarter than this. But then chances are, you didn't bother reading this and therefore, most people reading this probably do fit the description I gave... will take offense, and will downvote this post. Not because it's untrue, but because it IS true and they're hurt by the truth.
- this added after repost: Boards need to do a better job of clarifying types of discussions which belong on them. You get the description in the side bar, but that is very non-descript. And headings for boards are 100% misleading. If this truly belongs in "gameplay" as I was told to move it here... why? Gameplay description does not include anything relating to this post... meaning it is only here because it's a "catch-all" board. The post is not about in-game activity. It is not about the patches or updates. It is about players' reactions to said things. Which would logically seem to fall under "player behavior". But that board is apparently only for stuff like violations and restrictions/bans. Or perhaps people did not do a good job attempting to understand the purpose of the original post. It wouldn't be the first time it's happened to me.
For example: I made a joke about fiddlesticks before and had it removed for being in the wrong section. Because someone didn't take 10 sec to look up and verify that fiddle's q (fear) does no damage no matter how much ap you buy. And thus it's "damage" cannot be matched by a damage champ of another champion no matter how much ad or ap they buy. Did I get an apology? Did my post get returned even after the person realized what they'd done and how they'd completely insulted my intelligence as a veteran player by assuming I was some brand new player ranting about an underpowered (at the time) champion having too much damage? No. Instead I got more insults. I got all blame shoved on me because omg my joke took a bit of thinking to understand for some people.
Take the time to figure out what a post is actually about. If you don't know... ask questions instead of assuming. When you make a mistake... own up to it. When you're in charge of things... take 10 sec to verify something before casting judgement. The more power you have... the more responsibility you have to use that power appropriately. Respect differences of opinion. Even if you don't agree with someone's belief, you can see the logic from the angle they are viewing something from (maybe) and respect/appreciate that. I would rather have a group of people who tell me how they really feel about something even if their opinion is different from mine than have people parrot back my beliefs to me out of fear or brainwashing. And that's vague intentionally... because I can't make things more explicit with the way I am treated by certain individuals who fail to follow that need for respecting others.
