I was playing a ranked match and some guy picked Soraka top as a joke but when he was picking a champ he accidentally locked in Soraka instead of Akali, so basically it was Pantheon vs Soraka. The saddest part is that Soraka went 3/0 while Panth went 0/3. Bronze eh? [zombie-brand-mindblown]
To be honest, I don't think pantheon could beat a good soraka in lane at least not outright stomp her. On top of being ranged, she would be able to sustain in lane with her Q and prevent or punish all in's with her E. The fact that she is ranged makes her less vulnerable to pantheon's spears. Soraka can also be difficult to gank meanwhile pantheon has virtually no defensive tools of his own making him completely vulnerable to being camped.
Soraka isn't the strongest duelist, but people really underestimate her ability to stall a lane completely.

Soraka top is actually a valid off-meta pick. There's a guy who reached Diamond with her.
Had a game earlier where enemy locked in Zed, so our mid locks Nunu and says "Nunu hard counters Zed af"
Zed was 6/2 at some point, (I was two of his kills as top Fiora), ended the game with maybe 14 kills. Nunu didn't build armor until his last item of the game. Fed pretty hard. We won.

If Dyrus and a few Master players can make a Soraka top work, then one shouldn't be too critical of bronze play.
Bronzos are very bad... But ur example isn't a proof. I have already seen a Diamond main top (he's master atm) get rekted by a Soraka top... and he lose with Talon [slayer-pantheon-popcorn]
Raka's a lot easier to lane with since the attack update made her autos travel faster. She also can load her level points into two skills instead of three. Good reaction lets you silence on yourself when he jumps onto you.
It's not as bad as one may think.
I just played singed support with smite to mess with some people. I fed all game, but turned the tide of a teamfight, leading to a reverse snowball. I miss bronze

I used to play soraka top in norms. I know a dia player who does it too, both full AP.
It's decent and I've gotten fed off it by setting up kills for the jg, people underestimate supports in solo lanes.
My norms elo was like silver-gold at the time lol so it's not a bronze thing
Q Max Soraka is a scary bitch, tbh. When supporting as soraka I always put at least 3 points into Q before maxing out my heal because of how strong Q is in lane.
People underestimate how strong soraka can be with a few points into Q instead of heal max... she can practically solo a lane.
Lmfao I picked raka into leesin once top and i got 8 kills on the lee it was the best thing ever. (it was a normals game tho)
I go Soraka mid and tilt the heck out of the enemy. That and I can follow up on jungle invades cause Q, W, E, Q, W, Q... ya get the point. XD
