How Good is HP Regen?

I've been doing hp regen builds on Sion and I have to say it feels really good. However, is it worth it? Should I be investing in other stats?

That doesn't seem very necessary since a Warmogs will be all of the HP regen you'll ever need.

On champions who don't have sustain innately, it ain't bad, let's you stay in lane longer.

It's good against DoT based champions, but better stack hp and tanky stats (even tho it's useless atm)
