There are too many champions in this game. If you don't want anyone to play older champions like Taric, just remove them from the game. Taric and a few others are completely useless by design. That doesn't make much sense.
And what stop you from pretending they don't exist? Make your life awhile lot easier without affecting others.
Just because you do not interested in a champion being reworked doesn't mean no one is. Past discussions made by Riot employees have shown that Riot is very interested in reworking old champions.
No one is getting deleted so I guess you'll have to learn to deal with more and more champions.
Well, I could pretend a lot of things don't exist, like government corruption and murder. I'm not sure that's a satisfactory solution though.
