On Soraka's rework, and Zilean and Braum

Braum has only his Q as a damage-dealing ability (I don't consider his ult being for this purpose). He also deals extra damage on his auto attacks after proccing the stun on a target, so that his damage can be spread about, rather than all on one ability, like Zilean. Zilean, meanwhile, has only one damage-dealing ability, causing him to hit an incredible power spike at level 9, and then gain literally no additional offensive power in his base damages for the remainder of the game, causing frustration for his opponents early, and for his team later.

So, given that, why does Soraka now have only one damage-dealing ability? Giving her only one offensive spell means one of two things: if an offensive-focused soraka build ever becomes viable, it will be incredibly overbearing early and incredibly underwhelming later. Or, it will be tuned so that her Q can never be useful for damage.

Why did you make the decision to spread out Braum's damage, to keep it from becoming too overbearing, but not do that with soroka?

Zilean is a lot more focused on offense than Braum or Soraka, so for him it is a bigger problem to have only one damaging ability.

I think the short answer is that an offensive-focused Soraka build should never become viable and therefore Q will be never 'useful' for damage. But the abilities of many other supports are also not 'useful' for damage. Soraka's new Q is definitely useful for the health return part and the slow, it does not need to deal tons of damage too.

The health return is placed on W, so you need to level both Q and W to get full effectiveness out of her Q. That may spread out the abilities power curve a bit. Furthermore base AD is going to go up some to give her more early game harass power since she lost damage off the E. Soraka isnt focused on damage and cc and neither is her q for that matter, in her reworked iteration that is. She is focused on healing and her q is her self restoration mechanism.

The damage on her q is mainly to not let her be defenseless on her own and give her some poke for the sake of versatility. She isnt designed to have much damage in the first place.

On a side note, Braum's damage is ridiculously overbearing early and nonexistent later so i dont know how you can put him as a balance example.

And Zilean is actually fine as is in terms of balance its just people dont know how to play against him early levels.
