There's no way Team Builder's que functions properly or efficiently. (Que times)

I'm talking about que times, the length of time it takes for team builder to place you into a waiting group.

League of Legends is essentially one of the largest, most widely played games in the world. So forgive me if I find it unlikely that there are no groups in team builder looking for a support.

Support is the most in-demand role in team builder, everyone has been there -4/5, just waiting for a support for 15 minutes or more. I know, and I'm sure many other people know that there are a large number of groups that perpetually sit in the team builder que waiting for a support to show up.

So naturally I que as support far more than I do anything else, but in spite of the many many groups that are sitting and waiting for a support to show up.. I find myself waiting in que for ten minutes or more more times than not.

It seems incredibly unlikely that A.) there are no groups whatsoever qued, being that league may have the largest playerbase in the world..

Or B.) There are too many people que-ing for the support role for me to be placed into a waiting group. I think I speak for many people here when I say that we all get fed-up with waiting for that damn support to show up lol.

I'm qued right now, and i've been waiting for exactly 20 minutes as I type this.

There's no way.

I big part of it is your MMR, but yeah this seems crazy.

Well, my MMR places me regularly against diamonds and plats. I've even had a Master-tier on my team recently (and I embarrassed myself pretty badly with a trolly nidalee support pick I might add..).

I don't know, there should be a "settling" system so teams that wait a long time settle for what they can get/whoever is qued.

Keep in mind that it's matching you with people that share your invisible skill level. So while higher elo players who are on Teambuilder might be queueing as support, people in lower ones probably aren't. And on top of that, when someone is queuing as support they usually have a friend who's queued as their ADC so they can play together. So if you're searching for players as a host, so are they. You won't meet.

Honestly Team Builder is just a bad idea all around. It's an absolutely amazing concept, and I was overjoyed when it came out... but it's very quickly become a cesspool for gimmick teams and 3/4 man groups who are practicing combos, and will more than likely have much better communication than the five perfect strangers you have on your team. Only reason I'll ever go in for Team Builder queues is if there is a specific champion I'm trying out and don't want to risk not being able to play them where I want in a blind or draft pick match. It's alright for practice, but it doesn't work well in the long run most cases. And unfortunately there's no real way for Rito to prevent people from running gag teams, or to give people incentive to play support because that's not fair to the other four people on a team.

  1. you're being matched with your skill level this drastically narrows the pool
  2. some days, there are just fewer games that are being hosted. If you notice an abnormally long queue time as support, just go host one and you'll probably have your group fill in less than ten seconds.
