At first I didn't mind autofill
If I end up support, I will support, no problem. I also have autofill protection atm, no worries
There's an issue though. There are people who do NOT like autofill. They do NOT like playing support (I wonder why. The solution Riot came up with is to force people to support instead of finding out why? Great job lead designers.)
So while I don't care if I get filled, other people do. Those people will type "I dont support" and proceed to lock in whatever other role they wanted (usually mid). Then you end up with two mids, each trying to troll each other. Or maybe the original mid has to go support, being punished for the actions of somebody else. it takes one person to ruin four other people's experience.
I remember an argument on these boards saying autofill isn't all that bad. That it could teach players how to play support, which increases their understanding of the role.
The problem is, this shit has happened in my ranked four times since autofill, where some autofilled person locks in another role. I am only counting the times that I have played through those games. I would estimate about 12 times where this happened, then somebody dodged. I'm on a 30 minute queue restriction, I don't want to dodge another game.
So in theory, autofill would work great, if everybody was excellent at all roles, and had an eager attitude. Then we could all be HAPPY and prance around Summoner's Rift.
In theory, communism also works great.
So I would really like for either -Autofill be removed -People learn to support -Punishment be given to those who steal roles
