Saw some Aphelios gameplay

...His playstyle isn't that much different to Jinx really. No mobility with runnans as a core item. The only problem I see is the offhand mechanic which some of the numbers seems very off the charts. But that can be toned down. But again, this champion is an immobile Jinx/Kog playstyle so he is meant to.

This champion is NOT complex by gameplay mechanics but by decision and planning. Also to note, this champion is REALLY hard to go aggro. He is not Vayne or Kaisa by any means.

Just tried him. He's very fun to play but it's gonna take some time for people to get used to him.

One thing is that his offhand switching mechanic is being a bit awkward for me to learn. I tend to focus on one thing, so thinking about my off-hand weapon won't come naturally to me. It will take some time (if I decide to learn him)

I do wish he was more challenging to learn, though, and was more flashy or cool with his abilities.

I played him, and it's really just a bunch of auto attacks. Comparatively, I would say Riven, Irelia, Zed, Shaco are more 200 iq, fun, or mechanically challenging.

He is exactly what the community was asking for, while adding a new cool fresh mechanic and keeping a high skill cap

Pretty much yeah. He's definitely the highlight in a year of poorly thought out releases. Looks tight, and plays like a traditional marksman with a spin of having a lot of autoattack modifiers.

After the trist rework that is what jinx needed, another newer champion that will make her even more obsolete in higher levels of play. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

The only real problem I see with his kit is when he's using his Sentinel. Sentinel + Infernum can almost 1v5 a team in about 1/2 a second, especially once built, and that's without casting his R.

Gravitum is slow, and hard to make effective.

Severum makes me think of a Kai Sa Q stage of his skill set, because it pretty much combines her Q and E into one ability.

Calibrum is hard to actually mark off effectively for max effect.

And ofc..... one of the hardest things about Aphelios: The Alune chat blogs that pop out of nowhere and don't fit HIM.

''The yasuo of 200 IQ, big brain plays'' to quote Stashu.

Like Yasuo, the kit is very simple to understand and pick up.

But unlike Yasuo, using the kit to its full potential and doing the insane flashy combos is gonna be a hella long time. So much planning to do, gotta force dumb weapons to create better combos later on, handling the ammos, force switch mid-fight will happen alot too.

What I understood is that they don't want his gameplay to be ''hard'' (We got enough of those for a bit AurelionSol Azir Ryze ), they want the decision making, play making and planning to be hard while still being rewarding. His ult can be huge when used with the perfect weapon combination for ''That'' moment you planned ahead.

Imagine ulting with Gravitum and Calibrum...

You slow everyone down, mark everyone with calibrum during the follow-up then BANG, you use gravitum for a global Snare + Mark explosion.

Crescendum + Infernum for Mass AoE dmg and clean up. etc etc.
