Can we please talk about how toxic Rengar is as a character

Rengar is so terribly designed it hurts my brain. If he is behind he is obsolete and if he is ahead, he can kill you in 0.13 seconds (yes i have a screenshot of this). It’s just ridiculous. There’s no counterplay to that. And no i do not consider counterplay buying an hourglass or stopwatch.

0.13 seconds? That's a long time. 0.00 kills have been documented.

He wasn't so bad back when damage was manageable, because he had to follow up his initial combo. Now, he uses half of his combo and you die. How fun.

His passive is what's broken. The leap is uncounterable by many champions.

Does it make you feel better to know that in lore, Gnar kicked Rengar's ass?

In all due seriousness though, Renagr is not the biggest threat in the jungle right now. His early game is one without ganks, he needs to snowball like any other assassin, and he doesn't add much in team fights. The Rengar in your game (who appears to be a well versed Rengar main btw) who managed to get off strong early and carried his game. Didn't have to be a Rengar either, he could've just been any snowball champ really. It was just a bad game for you.

Btw, why did you have Mortal Reminder as your 2nd item? (Or is it third? Does the jungle item count as a full item?)

Most supports have an ability that can make him obsolete too. If Rengar jumps on you and Lulu sees Rengar is in ult and doesn't press her R button when he jumps,

The Lulu deserves to lose, and you're on her team, feelsbad but that's the game

He isn't even a good pick right now for jungle. When your team gives him an early lead then your team is just bad as he litteraly has no cc except for a slow and no gap closer as long as they aren't close to a bush. Balancing him properly is the fault of riot. With removing his ability to keep ferocity stacks they needed to balance him around having no stacks, but with a few tricks (and ult) you can gank with full stacks and so instapopping everyone. When riot would give him ferocity stacking back but make him lose all stacks when ulting you could properly balance him.

Rengar sucks dick, wdym? He is literally pushed into toplane bcs of his passive and matchups in jngle... Losing to jng Rengar means that your team fucked up big time.

(counter play is proper macro btw)

LoL is bad when it comes to the carrying dynamic of MOBAs. But the most fundamental counter play of all carries is taking advantage of their weakness early/mid, so they do not get fed and carry (or kill you instantly). But since league doesn’t work that way, and is less fun bc of it, grouping will quiet a lot of glass cannons and forces their teammates to help them out.

The biggest problem with Rengar is that when you compare him to the likes of Zed and Leblanc, there really isn't much room for him to go wrong with him offloading his damage.

Say what you will about Zed and Leblanc, they at least have some ways of messing up their abilities. But for Rengar, he can just ult and right click, and then press Q the moment he pounces on someone. Sure, you could argue that Rengar's weakness is that he could pounce at completely the wrong moment, wrong champion, etc. But that comes the territory with assassins. They're high risk characters that need to assess a risk before going in.

So why pick an assassin like Zed and Leblanc, when Rengar can offload the same amount of damage with such minimalist effort?
