You're asking the wrong questions.
Is support fun? Depends, like everything else. But apparently, you just said YOU find it fun, so it's fun for you, and it's all that matters.
As for whether it's easy or looked down on... Yes, it's a bit looked down on, generally by people who never played it and don't understand how it works. Don't worry about it. And it's not especially easier to play support, but it's very different and the difficulties aren't in the same places. You will rarely be focused in team-fights, and few support champs are mechanically intensive, but on the other hand, a lot of your actions have very subtle and far reaching consequences. Just as a quick example, you forgetting to put a ward at one point can lead to your carry face-checking a bush 1 minute or 2 later, and cause your loss; or in the reverse, you warding properly will ensure that your carries won't suicide stupidly, and will win you the game, but the not-suiciding carries won't necessarily credit you for that. It's hard to realize and appreciate your impact, even though that impact is very real.
But tl;dr: if YOU find it fun, it's definitely worth investing the time to learn the role properly. However, is it Tanks or Supporting that you really enjoy? 'cause if it's Tanks, you can have more fun in Top lane, or you can even play Tank Junglers instead of Nocturne, such as Rammus, Maokai, etc.
