Is Support fun?

this is my first season in ranked and i haven't won any games as jungler beyond my promos. jungle is fun but it becomes increasingly hard when you aren't that good at tracking. in teamfights i feel useless. i main nocturn btw. the other role i really like is support. i playing tanks in support role really fun especially allistar. so my question is, is support fun? is it looked down on. coming from overwatch, support is viewed as the easy role. is it like that in league? or do i have a bigger impact? thx

I think support is the easiest role to start out with, but also one of the roles with the most potential.

You're asking the wrong questions.

Is support fun? Depends, like everything else. But apparently, you just said YOU find it fun, so it's fun for you, and it's all that matters.

As for whether it's easy or looked down on... Yes, it's a bit looked down on, generally by people who never played it and don't understand how it works. Don't worry about it. And it's not especially easier to play support, but it's very different and the difficulties aren't in the same places. You will rarely be focused in team-fights, and few support champs are mechanically intensive, but on the other hand, a lot of your actions have very subtle and far reaching consequences. Just as a quick example, you forgetting to put a ward at one point can lead to your carry face-checking a bush 1 minute or 2 later, and cause your loss; or in the reverse, you warding properly will ensure that your carries won't suicide stupidly, and will win you the game, but the not-suiciding carries won't necessarily credit you for that. It's hard to realize and appreciate your impact, even though that impact is very real.

But tl;dr: if YOU find it fun, it's definitely worth investing the time to learn the role properly. However, is it Tanks or Supporting that you really enjoy? 'cause if it's Tanks, you can have more fun in Top lane, or you can even play Tank Junglers instead of Nocturne, such as Rammus, Maokai, etc.

support is easy in league, but they are also very important right now

if you want fun, and you like nocturne and Ali, i'm guessing you would enjoy playing rakan and leona, who are both initiators that go in and do cool stuff. you should pick up Janna too to round out your roster and because she's freelo right now

I find support fun. Have you tried leona or jarman support? Both have great lockdown/burst.

if you consider :

  1. verbal abuse
  2. condescendence toward you
  3. being accused for everything that goes wrong
  4. being on a leash
  5. warding 24/7
  6. a challenge fun, than yes O,O

I think support is a lot of fun, now more than ever. Supports have so much more power in comparison to a few seasons ago (but primarily still not equivalent to a lane carry) which make them have more impact on how a game can pan out.

I'm assuming you're asking support on a competitive level, in that case I think Alistar is [generally] a good pick packed with cc and sustain. His combo may take a little time to get used to if you're just starting out with him, but when fully understanding it can give you great pick potential. Alistar's tanky nature is less punishing if you happen to be out of position (except in higher rank where it can always be punishable), but it exchanged for being close range to do the job. This can be bad if you're behind as you may found yourself shredded before get to stay around in a fight. So to prevent falling behind, play and practice more to learn from what worked and what failed, so you can perceive details like damage and playstyle against favorable or disadvantaged matchups.

Support should not be looked down on, although there may be some self-absorbed carries out there that still falsely think supports are just the help for the team. It's a role that subtly pumping contribution to the team, but often get overlooked. Though, if you're REALLY good at it it's more frustrating for your opponents to know that they might have lost a game 'due to the enemy's support.'

Support is fun. It involves macro so maybe you'll have issues with it-- but on the other hand maybe it'll be a gateway into the role.

People look down on it thanks to countless misconceptions about the role. I don't have time to go over them. Don't let it put you off.

Supports generally have the highest playmaking potential, and are responsible for winning botlane. Mid + late they either form a death-ball with their most fed carry, or become a second jungler winning a game off of macro.

Its Easy to be support hard to be any good at it. and no its not fun cuz most of the time your adc has no clue what they are doing or should be doing.

support main for 9 years.

I am a support main and find it to be fun on champions who can fill multiple roles at once. I hate playing enchanters and vanguards like Janna and Leona. I find enchanters to be really boring and absolutely useless if you get caught out by yourself and vanguards/Blitzcrank to be useless when you are behind. Currently, my favorite supports are Taric and Trundle. Taric has the abilities of an enchanter but plays like a fighter with his doubled attack speed passive. Trundle is a fighter whose role as a support is to do 2 things; strategically place pillars to either peel or catch the enemy and steal their stats with Q and R.
