@Reav3 Mid-season Support Addition Did Nothing

Let me tell you that the addition of quests to starting Support items did absolutely nothing for the role. On paper it sounds like a pretty good idea, but now it has created more problems and didn't really address the issues still plaguing the role. Here are the reasons why.

  • Rewards -

Ancient Coin - The reward you get from Ancient Coin is terrible. It is the most underwhelming of the three and the other two are pretty terrible. What is so great about having an extra skill point when the other two starting items get a shield and movement speed buff? The answer is there isn't.

Relic Shield - Get another shield from your shield. isn't it kind of repetitive and too much? A great example is a champion that has a shield in their kit, takes Courage of the Colossus and gets the Relic Shield proc as well. Aren't there other ways to make the reward a little bit better than adding another shield a champion can proc? Didn't really think it through I guess.

Spelltheif's Edge - The majority of the champions that use this item already have a movement speed buff they can use on themselves. What's the point in having this? Isn't it making it much harder to burn these champions down when they already have so much utility, damage, and cc in their kits? Choices.

Wouldn't it have been a much better decision to use what was already in the items and make Support players actually feel . . . like they are requiring something useful. Seriously. Why didn't you do something like this:

Ancient Coin - Add healing to coins when the quest is met.

Spelltheif's Edge - Half the damage amount from Spelltheif's Edge in the beginning and make those champions earn the damage when the quest is met.

Relic Shield - Half the healing and amount of the proc in the beginning and make them earn the increase when the quest is met.

I really don't understand why you are adding a useless skill point that does nothing but be a level higher than your enemy and is terrible late game. I really don't understand why you added more shields on top of more shields and more shields for champions to proc on Relic. I really don't understand why you added a movement speed buff to champions that are already hard to kill because of their utility and can already speed themselves up. It really makes no sense to me. If you really wanted to make the Support role more interesting and rewarding, you would have done something like this. Make these champions earn the rewards and make it worthwhile.

The next class update needs to be the Support role. Your work on it, especially the recent changes, are poorly thought out, executed, didn't do anything, and very lazy. You were told about all of the problems with the Support role and you give us an extra skill point, movement speed buff, and another shield. That's already in the game and quite frankly is either underwhelming or game breaking.

The real issue is rewards, non-interactive itemization, champions being too generic and not interesting enough like your recent work on new champions and VGU, the champions having almost the same kits, everyone building the same thing, and quite frankly very lackluster. Weren't you told this? You were. Do you care? Doesn't look like it. Make the role more challenging, interesting, rewarding, and engaging. You have yet to show any of us that you are competent enough to do so.

_As always, stay frosty. _
