First Offense Chat Restriction comes with atrocious penalties!

Riot needs to take honor into consideration when assigning somebodies first chat restriction ever.

Knocking a lvl 5 honor person down to 1, and locking their honor, just as Clash is being released isn't right.

People have bad days. I got my first chat restriction, after playing for 9+ years for calling a Troll an A** Hole for throwing the game on purpose and wasting my time. 1 Game according to the chat restriction.

That was almost a month ago, and I'm still honor level 1, marker 0.

Since I work a 40 hour job, I only get a couple games in most days, so it's going to take forever to get back to honor lvl 2 it seems. I've been so excited for Clash, and now I can't play.

I'm thinking increase the chat restriction game count, and only subtract 1 or 2 full levels or honor, not all of it!.

What do you guys think?

Of course it's excessive that's riots mo. Be glad ur not level 0, takes 4-6 months to move out of that. Riot as a whole should be giving exact standards out so people know. Like how many games do u need to go with out a legit report, or how many exact honors you need to get. But as always they are vague with any answer they give

It sucks that it happened if you are truly not a toxic person.

But....part of their penalty has to be a reset to 0. If they only removed 1 or 2 levels then whats to keep people from abusing that and just saying to themselves "well im level 5 honor, im about to let this person have it because ill only lose 1 or 2 levels and still be able to play clash."

See what im saying? For people that want the rewards and want to be able to play in the events, the fear of being reset to level 0 plays a part in them thinking twice before they say type and be toxic.

Lucky. My ass got knocked all the way down to honor zero for 10 game chat ban right before Clash was revealed/released. Then I blew up again at someone fucking around in ranked and got kicked in the teeth with another reset soon after that. X)

Okay, I'm of two minds on this.

On one hand, you have to **try ** to get a chat restriction. You absolutely did not get a chat restrict for using "asshole" your first time ever, and nobody here is going to take that mess seriously, as if you put a toe out of line for the first time ever. Your punishment was just and deserved.

On the other hand, I don't think a no-punishment warning before dropping the hammer would be remiss. People would have no excuse to be caught by surprise then.

Getting a chat ban requires consistently being reported for the same kind of offenses over extended periods of time until you get that last report that launches the punishment. So you had to be constantly getting reported to have gotten punished.

So you got punished for your actions, and now you're prevented from doing things you wanted because of that punishment. Go figure that a punishment denies you from doing things you want to do. It's almost as if punishments were designed to teach you a lesson that way...

Well I've received 1 check point a little over a month later. I'm doing it guys. I guess I"m glad Clash has been cancelled because now I'm not missing out on anything. Hopefully I can get it back to 2 soon. I just can't play very much so it's hard.

I really think for "FIRST TIME" offenders, this penalty is way way too harsh. Softening the "FIRST TIME" penalty for HONOR would not have any negative impacts, only positive ones. I almost quit league over this, but I decided to stick it out a bit longer and see if my honor would raise. I had seen all kinds of forums stating it hadn't moved for months, or even a year. However these guys are probably slightly toxic, and their progress is being slowed.

Still though, 1 month, I've only gotten 1 check point, and man you should see me in my games. Great Job guys, we can do this, Don't worry about it, we got this, the ADC is power farming, they'll come online soon don't worry. Any negative I see, I try to spin the positive, and keep our teem going. It's kind of exausting, but it feels pretty good to receive honor in a loss, or to single handily negotiate the team into playing on and winning. I would have missed 2-3 Clashes by now, and that's pretty upsetting because it really doesn't seem like a fair and JUST punishment.

PLEASE RIOT, SOFTEN THE PENALTY FOR FIRST TIME OFFENDERS, or at the very least, provide a warning. My request would not impact me really, I just feel very strongly that it's unfair to Honorable players. I yelled at a troll throwing the game on purpose, and I"m sorry for it. The Chat restriction was enough of a punishment for me. Robbing me, and others in a similar situation of Clash is an example of Cruel and Unusual Punishment.

9+ years I've been playing, and I just received my first offense, I'm not in anyway Toxic, so this punishment seems way way way off base. I get what I did was wrong, but the other guy was doing something much much much worse. It's like I was robbed and I called the guy an A**hole, and the police arrested me for swearing in public and proceeded to strip me of my rights, as if I was a guy who did this daily for no reason. Please lesson the honor penalty for FIRST TIME offenders.
