Hard Stuck in Gold.

Been playing since Zed came out (season 2?). So it's getting embarrassing. Highest I've climbed is Gold 2. I know a lot of people make it to plat by their second season playing. My question is, what do some of you higher elo players see as common mistakes in mid-high gold? I really want to make it to plat this season. Thanks for any help.

Abuse champion cool downs in laneing phase, work up to 8 cs per minute at least, be very good mechanically with around 4-7 champions, help your jungler as much as you can, land skill shots, don't go above 4 deaths every game

Missing opportunities or not realizing they were there in the first place. Most people in gold have a solid champion, sometimes too big but almost everyone has at least one or two champions they are comfortable on, they know their limits but this knowledge almost never extends to other champions.

80% of people in gold don't seem to realize when an enemy player has overstepped their limits as a champion and therefore do not know when or how to punish accordingly.

At this point in the game is when I generally start want to developing a mindset when playing League. Make sure to actively think about your next decision. Too many players just play on autopilot and every so often actually think. Take the initiative and really start opening your view to the bigger picture here. I know I'm being vague but its just because there's way too much knowledge to even hope to elaborate on.

I will edit this later and hopefully give an overview on what to think about.

I saw on your Op.gg that you're an adc main, so here is what I see from gold players when I play flex:

(ESPECIALLY ON CAIT): When your opponent goes up to CS, auto him. This gives them two options. Either A), he misses the CS and autos you back, or B) he takes free damage for that cs. If you do this for every CS possible, it adds up really really quickly. Especially with Cait because your auto range is so long you can auto them while they walk in range and auto them again as they back off.

Rush to level 2. Level 2 is huge, not only for the stats but for the extra skill point. It takes the first wave plus the first 3 melee minions of the next wave. When you're 1 minion away, walk up with your support. They HAVE to back off and you can get a free 3-4 cs lead if they respect it, and kill them if they don't by simply executing the minion to get you level 2 then taking the fight.

Try focusing on getting those two things down because they're pretty important.

Same here. It should be obvious but give up on playing mechanicallly intense champions that force a heavy AD comp. You don't have to play Annie but somethingi in the middle.

Edit: Looking at you op.gg, why not just stick to what you're doing and spam Cait till your win rate falls closer to 50%, then find a high elo player to break your gameplay down.
