Mid-Season Magic Thoughts.

So this will just be me sharing my thoughts on what I have seen on the new Mage Update. To start off I think the strongest champions coming out of this will be Brand and Vel'Koz. Brand has a lot more AoE now and with his new passive dealing AoE based on a target's max HP I could see tanks being detrimental when trying to peel for their own team. Vel' Koz is basically the same, but he will be doing a lot more damage with his ultimate.

I can definitely seeing double mage comps becoming more viable. Champions such as Zyra and Cassiopeia will offer a lot of lock down and damage for other AoE mages such as Brand and Vel'Koz. All of these champions will be more viable as supports, since they received buffs, but Malzahar will actually be a viable and perhaps even meta as support. His passive will allow him to ult a target without being cc'd, and his voidlings will be a lot more manageable and won't require him to spam his abilities. So as a support he will offer damage, poke, and cc.
