Absolutely not. There are items that are absolutely needed as they are the only good counterplay against too many things. Imagine the horror of not being able to reveal that invisible enemy or get out of the fiddle fear + ult? You can't do anything.
Probably wouldn't even work on Zed since if you went to your shadow they wouldn't be close enough to you for it to work and then they'd just Zhonya's.
