The Math Behind Warwick's Current Ult

Thee ZerO·12/4/2014, 1:31:47 AM·4 votes·4,652 views

The items used are challenging smite, devourer, wits end, and bork on warwick's ult. Warwick item 3718 item 3153 item 3091 The numbers are coming from the ult itself and no other moves (even though ww gets a free Q + aa after every ult).

Warwick's ult features 5 quick attacks which register on-hit effects:

  1. 420 base ult damage

  2. 50 bonus from 200% of ad scale (assuming 25 bonus AD from ONLY bork. Should be more w/ runes and masteries)

  3. 100 multiplied by 5 (devourer - assuming 60 stacks)

  4. 69 multiplied by 5 (challenging smite)

  5. 93 multiplied by 5 (botrk - 8% of current hp per hit, assuming enemy has 2000 hp, which is a level 18 adc. This is the average of 160 + 123.76 + 90.4192 + 59.7456 + 31.5259 divided by 5, which are the actual values bork will do per hit).

  6. 42 multiplied by 5 (wits end)

  7. 16/32/48/48/48 (warwick's passive, assuming we haven't touched the target yet)

= 2182 total damage

This doesn't include runes and masteries, and any extra ad past 25 or any devourer stacks past 60. This will also do more damage to champs which have more than 2000 hp because bork does % based damage.

It should also be noted that this damage is before ANY damage reduction. However, with most of it actually being magic damage, and wits end shredding opponent's MR, you can be assured this this is somewhat close to the actual value. And since our target in this situation had 2000 HP, this almost a kill with just Warwick's ult. There is also a good amount of true damage and AD damage in this as well.

Some other things to consider:

  1. The added worth of a 1.5 second suppress
  2. The added worth of an instant blink
  3. The extra damage the free Q + aa will do after every ww ult (challenging smite active will still have 4.5 seconds left)
  4. The movement speed proc from E - Blood Scent which will inevitably be on after this, coupled with the BORK active.

Also, BotRK is a 8% CURRENT hp on hit, not max. As in, it gets weaker every hit.

FantasySniper12/4/2014, 5:49:37 AM2 votes

Ok, wait, let me make this simpler.

item 3718 item 3153 item 3091 Minimum Lv 16

Source:Damage Per Hit•5= Total
Ult(84 + 10)470
Smite63315
Devour40 (+Stacks)200 (+Stacks•5)
Passive16/32/48√*192
Wit42210
BotRK*5% Current HP< 30% Max HP
Active10% Max HPX10% Max HP

Edit: 8%, not 5.

Assuming you use BotRK's active and Smite before you jump on your target, it's a minimum total of:

315 True Damage + 1072 (+Stacks•5) Magic Damage + 10% and more of their max HP in Physical Damage

Just with this, a person is guaranteed death if they have less than 2000 health and no outside help mitigates the damage. WW still has the rest of his kit left to fight with, so a [Q] swipe or even a few AAs are enough to kill them, especially with the Challenging Smite still on them.

This is just these three items, too, excluding runes and masteries.

160 + 123.76 + 90.4192 + 59.7456 + 31.5259, or an average damage of 93 damage per hit (BotRK, assuming no resists).

Otherwise, even using your math the adc lives with 70 hp left. Seeing as giving WW both 60 stacks farmed, the enemy no resists, and WW a bonus 100 AD (meaning a bonus 75 AD on a squishy, highly kitable champion that already has 3 dedicated damage items and probably boots) is highly unlikely AND unreasonable, I think I'm going to call bullshit.

with that built you won't have 100 bonus ad, but since u forgot to incloud the passive the damage will be close to that anyway, probably even higher.

@ Learn 2 Swim : Even with defstats, the damage in the end will be at ~1300 vs squishys, to gether with a Q+AA after the ult u reach ~1600-1700 total after resists, probably even more, so u can take about 90% befor they can react, which is pretty massive considering your high dps and sustain afterwards

I've been effing around just to see how crazy you can abuse those on hit effects with his ult, it is pretty insane

With Devourer Wits end BOTRK Muramana

It gets pretty insane

Yes, you can die pretty easily, but you also become better at assassinating lo hp champs like ADC's and Mages than champs like Zed or Talon. You can pretty much just kill a squishy with your ult+Q and one AA. Not to mention, you can also easily spam a BOTRK passive before you ult

He isn't a problem in just low ELO. He is a instant ban in OGN

It is like the PBE doesn't exist. =
They nerfed skirmisher, WW's ult, and his AD steroid.

Wait til Master Yi appears on scene.

the numbers are even sadder if he builds a black cleaver. instant 25% armor shred in addition to the wits end MR shred

He doesn't benefit from armor shredding outside his AA's. There is absolutely no benefit to building it because most of the damage will be magic based. You would build botrk instead, because its greater damage. Alternatively you can try a Hydra and proc its effet 5 times IIRC.

....Warwick gets movement speed from W?

Warwick's ult has always been that strong even before Devourer

Oooh one of these threads I did this math for Fiora yesterday, now I get somewhere to post it: Btw THANKS FOR PLAYING WW PEOPLE NERFING FIORA FOR NO REASON!

Blade Waltz [R] - Damage reduced to 125/255/385 (160/330/500) but damage on the same target increased to 40% (up from 25%)

Items: skirmishers(warrior)/Hydra/ghostblade/BT/IE/zephyr (18,800 gold build) AD 45 75 30 80 80 25

114 (Fiora base @ 18) + 335 (items) = 449

449 + wrath (25) = 474 + 14 (runes) = 489 + 10 + 4 = 503

503 - (base) 114 = 389 * .05 = 19.45 + 389 = 409 (bonus ad)

503 + 19.45 = 523 total AD @ 18

385 + (154x4) = 1001 base single target fiora ult

409 Bonus AD * .9 = 367.605 (AD scaling for fiora ult)

385 + 367.605 = 761.605 (1st hit)

154 + 367.605 = 521.605 * .4 = 208.642 (2-5 hits if on same target)

761.605 (1st hit) + 834.568 (2-5 hits) = 1596.173

Skirmishers true damage = 69 * 5 = 345

1596.173 + 345 = 1941.173

So that's Fiora's ult damage to a single target, is actuall 29 less than WW's ult. Wtf?!

Bears Dont Care12/6/2014, 9:48:38 PM1 votes

Actuslly yes.yes they can. Master yi can delete anyone and has the tools to do it. There arevideos of yi solo killing 4 challenger level korean players. Warwick cannot do such a thing and uses the same items outsidr of wits end.

Learn 2 Swim12/4/2014, 2:03:11 AM1 votes

so riot introduces an unbalanced item without thinking and guts a sub top 5 jungler after 1 week of dominance?

sounds fair to me!

7ha7guy77712/4/2014, 5:01:04 AM1 votes

and if you happen to have a Braum on your team who hit the target with Q or an auto before you smite ulted, Braum's passive procs during your ult resulting in more magic damage and a stun slightly overlapping the suppression.

SummonerSquid12/4/2014, 3:34:36 PM1 votes

Glad somebody else did the math. This is a solid reasoning for why he is (and probably should be) banned out every ranked game I play. After the nerf him he should be a bit more reasonable again.
