What if higher elo is too hard?

Im currently climbing my way through bronze and i seem to be doing a good job, but I'm scared because i played with my friend in silver and my opponent was in silver and he beat me in lane and we lost. So I'm scared that if i climb i won't be good enough for my opponents in higher elos and i will continuously lose. Any thoughts?

You get better by playing against better players. As you rank up you will play against better players and then will get better as a result.

Back in my days of playing CSGO pretty seriously, I was a Gold nova 2 (essentially S3) but then I decided to play CEVO (a community competitive mode where i would often play against players that would be equal to a Plat 1 or D5 player as the majority of the playerbase) I got my ass kicked for an entire month. By the end of month 2 though i was able to carry games. When I went back to standard MM i flew up the ranks to finally reach that level myself.

So dont be afraid of ranking up. as you do you will play against better players and get better as a result.

if you're in this state of mind,I suggest you go again in normal. You'll find people from every level. If you have a high winrate in lane(not necesseraly in game),you may get more confident about your ability.Plus you won't be stressed and will make better (or worse?:p) moves.you must be in peace to learn faster.

You'll always gravitate towards where you belong. MMR doesn't move as fast as your Rank, so if you get lucky and shoot up a few divisions you won't really notice any difference and you'll probably fall back down towards where you belong. Don't worry about playing outside of your skill level, you'll tend to stick around where you belong; and hey, maybe you underestimate yourself too much!

if you feel like you're not as good as the players in your ranked games, play some norms and improve, thats how I got out of low elo, just spammed the hell out of norms until i learned the game and then took off

Don't worry about under performing too much. If you want to climb you have to play better people. Just focus on doing good and trying to improve, everything else will fall into place. Don't ever be afraid to fail, and don't doubt yourself; the worst thing you can do is setup barriers, blocking you from improving. You can do it.

I remember when I was fresh of the lv.30 block I was being matched against consistently diamond/master-level teams (I'm talking like, all 5 of the enemies where diamond+). Rather than worrying/caring about how my booty was being consistently handed to me on a silver platter, I learned how to play defensively and from behind. I learned how to get carried and not to be a dead-weight for me team, but rather an asset that wasn't necessarily "dominating". It was some of the best games of my life, and everyone was pretty understanding when they saw an unranked, newly level 30 on their team.

The moral of this story is: sometimes you'll have to play against people who are "better", but don't sweat it. Focus on improving and learn how to stay relevant in a game that you aren't doing amazing in. It's honestly the best thing you can do to climb.

"Learn how to get carried" <- best advice to climbing I've seen to this day
