IG is Showing How Narrow the Game Has Become

Clearly you want to take their Bot lane duo out of the game, or minimize their influence. Therefore you want to tilt the game towards the solo lanes, mainly top. There is no clear way to do that with picks and bans atm and that is very bad. Sylas, for example, is basically a utility (nice poke, gap close, knock-up, pull, heal, nuke, utility ult) carry so you can not punish the pick by picking a strong laner like an Illoai, Nasus, Garen, Riven, Jax, or Yorick etc. Akali is just flat out safe if you are good and has so much power you can not drive her out of the lane, which means she pays nothing for all she has. Your best bet is still AP bots like Heimer, something safe, or Sona/Taric. The game needs and should have champs that excel by definition in certain scenarios to give the games more variety. Skill only goes so far in these solo lanes when everyone is skilled. Tactics and pick/bans need to have more influence. There should be dozens of options for forcing the game to be played on certain terms, then it up to the team to execute it or other team to counter pick it or outperform them.

At least the Aatrox patch will be live for next tournament so he can just carry the laning phase and late game seamlessly.

The QoL in LoL is great but the game is getting so dumb that it is becoming unrewarding.
